Nansemond River Golf Club

Course is in Great Shape, play is fast, the course Drains very well and they allow 90 degree access shortly after rain. This is especially good for us Seniors.. Great Experience, will be back very soon.

Thru GolfNow.com we played Nansemond River on 2/15 (a beaytiful 60* day) for only $14 each. The course was in excellent condition and the views along the river are an added bonus. Even though the course was fairly crowded, we still managed to finish in 4 hours. Great views, great day & great course more than made up for the so so golf we played.

Appears to be over-seeded with Winter Rye :-) Fairways and putting surfaces are Green and smooth, the rough is dormant Brown, which offers an impressive appearance Tee to Green.... Greens are in excellent shape... One of the friendliest staffs in the Tidewater Region... Go Play!

The tee time was set at 0810 and we ended up being the first group out. The pro shop opened early enough to get range balls and do a little practice.

Enjoyed playing the course. Good course in good condition. Staff friendly and helpful.

Just a great layout. Lots of interesting and varying holes. Love 17! One of the best courses in Tidewater and you cannot beat the value!

Even in late November the greens were excellent and the fairways surprisingly green, making a wonderful contrast to the brown (yet still fairly lush) rough and really defining every hole. The last four holes along the sound make you feel like you're in Hilton Head and the nearly island green of the 17th quite a fun challenge. Luckily it's not a long hole so you're going in with a short iron. Nice bunkering, challenging but not crazy length from the blue tees and a very nice practice facility make this course a must-play.

beautiful course conditions inspite of being 2 days removed from a hurricane. great scenic views. back 9 was extremely memorable and lets not forget the island green at 17. Wow what a course !!!!!!

Three of us played in less than three hours. Greens rolled very well and the fairways were in great shape. The course was a lot of fun to play and the scenery was great as well. I hope to go back soon!

Great views great layout and overall a good golf experience. The course is fun to play with a few holes that are challenging but the views are what makes this course special. I highly recommend thus course to anyone who wants a nice day out in the course!

One of the first courses I played when I first moved to the Hampton Roads area. The facility is always neat and clean, staff are helpful and courteous. Once you're on the course you realize that you are there to enjoy yourself. Amazing Nansemond River vistas, and if you play "twilight" you can count on some great sunsets.

Course conditions: rough is not brutal, usually a good lie in fairway, greens roll true, and bunkers are maintained. You can make this course a destination.

I travel several times a year to Norfolk and golf. From th back tees, this is all the challenge a normal golfer should desire. The normal men's tees require a solid ball striking round to score well--the greens are well protected and the longer par 4's have solid length.

One of teh best in the Hampton Roads area. Multiple sets of tees can really make this course play different. Some fantastic holes along the water and marsh.

excellent greens superb fairways and challenging a great time in a hurry to get back
