Better than staying home
Played course on Sunday afternoon. They were calling for rain all day. When sun came out jumped on the opportunity to get out and hit some and get some fresh air. . Layout of this old course leaves something to be desired but staff was friendly. Would go back on last minute tee time rather than stay home,
Good value
This is a short and fairly easy course. I've played here many times in the past, and it had always been in good condition. Today the fairways were in bad condition, not sure why. The greens were nice. Still one of the better deals around. Great course for a beginner.
City course
Staff was excellent, but there are plenty of limitations due to its location. Several holes have roads/fencing running alongside them where it's very easy to lose your ball.
Good but..
Good golf course, however almost all holes are to clouse to the roads, also lots of trash from the neighborhood are in the sides of every fairway...
This course is in a bad part of town
Overall the course is nice. The city obviously takes care of the grounds. The price is excellent. It's located in a pretty rough part of town. The whole time you will hear police sirens, ambulances, fire trucks, police helicopter, and occasional gunshots. People from the neighborhood will walk through the course during play. The kids steel balls after you hit them and if you leave your cart you should take your valuables with you. I've seen people steel clubs from carts or steel a wedge that someone set down while putting. After you're finished playing these same kids will try to sell clubs or balls to you. Police sit in a few places on the course, but they don't actually patrol.
staff are great at this course
The staff are very helpful at this course. For being winter the greens were in great shape. There was a group of 5 ahead of us that would not let us play through, so we were waiting 10-15 minutes at each tee box and for being the off season that was frustrating. The staff was constantly watching them and telling them to hurry up. I would recommend this course to any level player.
Practice your short game here
I have played this course about 5 times this year and the greens are always very good. This is a nice course if you want to practice your short game from 100 yards and in. The course is not that long and is very forgiving so if you spray your tee shots there is enough room to recover. Why hit balls at the range when you can play here for around the same price, my foursome played this course for $20 per person with a cart. The carts are never cart path only so it makes for a quick round. The tee boxes are so so but that teaches you about uneven lies. The fairways are good and you can make a lot of birdies. The course gets a bad name for location but I have been playin this course for years and nothing has ever been close to happening to anyone I know. Its not a country club but trust me you will enjoy it.
Hidden Gem
this awesome city owned course is hiding in the heart of downtown baltimore. Exquisitely maintained. Great value!
