Excellent course. Not for beginners. Plenty of green to tee for environmental purposes. Staff, both golf shop and course maintenance excellent.
Wonderful Course
This is a great tract, well maintained and fun. If you enjoy courses with allot of elevation changes, you will love this course.
a very tough challenge
It's a course where you need to understand the layout. Huge elevation changes. Many uphill drives or down hill par 3's. The par 4 and 5 remind me of Bethpage. The par 3's do not. I'm not a fan of severe changes on par 3 where you are simply guessing how much it drops by 20 - 30 yards. There's almost no bailout room as well. Hence the pace on our round was 5 hours just to reach the 18th hole. The course was in great conditions but the greens had too much poa anna to keep the ball online on touch putts. Gorgeous views of the mountains. So my guidance if you want a tough place to test your game, try the blue tees but you better bring have a long trust worthy driver and be ready for some target shots as well.
Stunning natural beauty
Little Bennett is a beautiful course because the difficulty of the course is based on the natural hilliness and woods. It doesn't rely on the use of bulldozers to shape elevated greens and sand traps. Most of the par 4s have blind tee shots and all of the par 5s have blind 2nd shots (for a 250 yard driver). There is lots of wildlife. I wish that the greens on 3,5,9 and 13 didn't have such radical slopes, or were not cut nearly so short. Also, golfers have a nasty habit of tossing their beer cans off of the carts while driving through here. And, for avid walkers, like me, it doesn't seem reasonable to have be forced to pay the $15 cart fee to walk. It is still a fun and beautiful course.
Well Done!
Played here as part of a golf group outing on Sunday- Shotgun start. Course was in EXCELLENT shape- Greens about 11 on the STIMP meter but rolled true, fairways well groomed, Tee boxes almost perfect. As a County Govt owned course, this blows away a lot of Private courses and Country Clubs I have played. Design and Layout are very imaginative- lots of blind shots. Play course management- a yardage book would have helped. Overall, an excellent course open to the public. Play it now!
Great Value!
Played here a few times this year after haven't been back in a couple of years. Course was in a great shape. Nice fairways and greens.
Good course, great value
Overall, a good course. Conditions were very well kept, and each shot posed a different level of challenge. Pace of play was a little iffy, it seemed like a lot of people were smashed in together. The group behind us (a threesome) kept playing into our group (a foursome) and complained to the ranger. They were also playing from the very forward tees, so they were constantly waiting to play from 100 yards closer than us. Otherwise, great round!
My Home Course
I haven't played golf in about a 2 months, but since is my home course and the weather was nice for November, I played around 11:00 and was glad I did. This course is always in great shape whether it's the beginning, middle or end of golf season. Really lucky to have this as my home course. Didn't play well, but didn't expect much considering the lapse of time since I've played.
Good course conditions
After a few days of constant rain the course was in excellent shape. I played as a single then hooked up with another single in the back 9. They were cutting the grass around the greens; lost my ball just outside a green because of tall and moist grass.
The leaves start to fall now and constant maintenace is required to blow away leaves off around the greens. I'll play this course again.
long round for a friday
I was a little disipointed it ok us over 5 hours for Friday afternoon round. 210 tee time took us far into dusk. Course was in good shape for the dry summer we had. I will come back and play again at an earlier time.
Glad I Went Back
Had not been there for a few years. After a drought, conditions were very good. Holes 9 & 18 are challenging, but memorable. Glad I went back and will be playing again there soon.
Good Place to Play
Of all of the County Courses Little Bennett should be ranked near the top with a nice variety of holes and shots. The conditions were nice despite a warm dry summer.
An excellent course
The fairways, greens and what i know from firsthand experience the rough are in excellent shape. Pro shop staff got us in and out. The snack bar person gave us after hours attention to refill our drinks when she could have easily said no. The sights of the mountains, the barns and the rolling fairways were really nice. One of our foursome tied his lowest score so Im sure we will be back!
Challenging but fair course
I enjoy playing on this beautiful golf course. It was my first time and we didn't know how the course condition and layout but the score card is very helpful. I found some of the par threes are more challenging than par fours and fives. The driving range is one of the best in the area....it's real grass and well maintained.Overall we had a good round and can't wait to go back and get a better score.
I recommend this course.
It was interested for my friends and me.
It was some difficult and easy.
Generly good course.
little bennett
Very hilly.Would not recommend walking.Course was in good condition. The Greens were slow.A couple of quirky holes.
Beatiful course
Booked through GolfNow with a great rate and got there a little early and they sent us right off. First time ever here and there were quite a few golfers that date but not too much of a hold up on the tee boxes. Would play this course again when give the opportunity. Great time !
nice course but too much delay
I loved the course layout and condition. I recommend especially players who enjoy challenging hilly course. However, the pace of in 9 holes was really horribly slow. You will need lots of patience.
Country Club conditions on a Public Course
This is a very challenging course that will test all aspects of your game. But, if you play well you will be rewarded. Conditions are superb. Greens are smooth and fast, but receptive. Bunker sand is good. The Par threes are all memorable and the holes that finish both sides...9 and 18...will have you talking to yourself on the ride home. A great experience all around.
