Overall Good MC course
Although the greens were airated, the rest of the course was in great condition. I will be very interested in how the greens perform when filled-in. Surprisingly the round went 4hrs on a glorious Saturday. Only complaint was the distance of the cart return to the parking lot.... (I'm reaching to find anything to complain about really).
Long course with tricky greens and challenging par 3's
Good course conditions. Long course with tricky greens.
Fast hard greens
Good value nice natural old style course few man made obstacles. Nice use of the natural terrain. Greens hard and fast Would recommend using 1 less club on approaches at least until we have a soaking rain. Its a little off the beaten track but you more than make up the time it takes to get there by the pace off play. I did play mid week mid day so keep that in mind

Great course to play mid-week- well maintained and not crowded.
The course was in good shape. The greens were very firm (maybe due to dryness) so high wedge shots didn't hold. Traps and rough were well maintained.
Awesome day at Poolesville
What a great track! From the very first tee shot this course is a fun and challenging one. Plenty of players there but groups kept pace nicely. Greens were very well maintained, fast and consistent. Fairways/bunkers/tee boxes were also in super shape. Will definitely play here again!
easy to get on to play this couse.
This is not a short course. Wide open fairways, so it is very forgiving, and the greens are fast
always a challenging course
this course should not allow walkers on the weekend. The winds off of the Potomac River make this course tough year round. I have played many rounds there and it prepares me for the season. This course and its staff do well to compete with the other Montgomery County courses with price. They need marshals. Always a fun place to play. I regularly tell friends to go there.
the course is in good shape
it could use a clubhouse with aplace to buy a drink, or a drink cart.
Challenging, but enjoyable
This was my first time playing Poolsville. I liked it. It was in great shape for this time of the year and I look forward to playing it in season. The mix of difficulty was nice. It's a straight forward Old School style course that will make you think about your next shot. I did have an issue with the Pro Shop staff. I booked a 1200 start at $22.00 per player and I was charged $25.00. When I questioned the increase, the guy checking us in told me that Golf Now had it wrong and the price was $25.00. His attitude was very flippant and arrogant. I asked for the Manager and the issue was resolved. Don't expect much from the guy behind the cash register, but do enjoy the course once you are our there.
nice course and less crowd
one of my favor courses close by my house with good value and good maintained
Well tended fairways and challenging greens make for a enjoyable round of golf
The course management is pretty good for a county run golf course. Challenging course with good pin placement, well tended fairways and greens helped this course become one of my favorites. The staff is attentive and outgoing, no hassle golf is the standard. The rounds were quick with moderate waiting times on the par 3's but overall pace of play was very good. A very enjoyable, available golf course that challenges the recreational golfer and makes for a fun round with friends or by yourself.
Good home course but some issues
I play often and here a lot. It's an ok track with some real challenges, fun to play.
Problems have been mostly with starters. Twice in the past 2 weeks the starters allowed people off the back nine as we were finishing the front. This effectively ended our play. Bummer.
Also the ground crew is clueless about interrupting play with watering or cutting. These are both quality management issues.
Nice track, good condition!
I must admit that I was pleasantly surprised by the overall layout and the general course conditions. Definitely worth the price ($45.00) and I plan on returning in the near future.
Good value!
