Great weather on a wonderful course
It was a picture perfect day weather wise. The course was in great shape, in spite of some major storms in the past few days. The staff, including starter, were very accommodating and friendly. My only complaint arose from playing behind several foursomes of league players who were very slow, so I and the foursomes behind me had fairly long waits on each hole. The marshall did try to rectify. Anyway, the day was so nice it really did not matter that much, especially since I had my second lowest score ever for a long 18.
Falls Road
been playing this course for over 30 years. It is about 3 miles from my house but i play this the least, due to pace of play.
yesterday was no different and gave up after 9 holes. It's a nice course to play but only play if you like 5+ hour rounds
Muni Fun
Good municipal to play, can be kind of slow but overall a great course!
Are we there yet?
The golf course itself is just fine. However, the pace of play stinks. Everytime I play Falls Rd., I vow never to play it again. But after 5 months I tend to forget that vow and get sucked in. Last fall, it took me 2h 50mins to play 9 holes. Yesterday, took 2.5hrs. And management refuses to do anything to speed up play. No marshals. No possibility of spacing tee times out by 1 minute because the demand is too high. I'm done. I'll take my hack attack elsewhere.
This course has really nice features
Overall, I enjoyed playing this course, it really seemed to fit my eye and game. It is now a favorite as I got my very first eagle the first hole! Look forward to playing this course during the spring and summer.
great course for mid to low handicappers
The course was in great shape, especially for this late in the season. The layout allows for tees facing the wind on some holes and benefiting from the wind on others.
Nice Greens!
The course was in great condition, the fairways were nice, the traps were good and the greens rolled true and fast. First hole rolled in a fifty footer, it just keep rolling and fell in the hole for a birdie. Felt like you could make putts from anywhere, we both had a lot of one putts.Fun day @ the course!
Good experience
Play was slowed first by a 3some and then by a 4some in front of us. Once we skipped 3 holes to get ahead, it was wide-open. Very nice course and the course condition was excellent. Greens were difficult. The Starter was very nice, gave me a brief introduction of the course. Will come back.
Wide open friendly course
With falls road being close to my office, I get to play here at least every other week or so. It is a great walking course. The only negative is that the course is very popular and super busy. You can expect to wait a bit.
The greens and fairways are very well maintained. Ok range and putting areas.
Short but fun
This was my first time playing Falls Road. The course was in good condition especially considering it's a county owned public course. Pace of play was fine (4 hrs), although we could have played faster and we didn't see any marshals to speed up the group ahead of us. My only real complaint is the length of the course. The par 3's and 4's are fine, but there is really only one legit par 5 on this course. The other two are just decent par 4's and I honestly didn't even realize they were par 5's until I checked the card on the next tee box
If you're looking for a quick, fun, not too serious/challenging, bang-for-your-buck round of golf, Falls Road definitely fits the bill.
Challenging but Fair
The course has lots of undulations; so there were very few perfect lies. The greens were quick, but if you lined up right you could 1 or 2 putt. If you keep the driver in or close to the fairway, you can score well. My best hole was the 10th, hit the drive down the left side of the hole, got a good kick in the fairway. 126 yard wedge into the hole, got up and down for a par. Being a Par 70 course, it was challenging, but very fair.
Great value.
Played Father's Day weekend so pace of play was understandably slow. Course has been progressively getting better.
Best conditions ever
I've played the Falls Road Golf Course many times in my day and I've never seen it in better condition! There wasn't one ball mark on any of the 18 greens; the fairways and tees were in great shape too. Get out there soon and enjoy this local treasure!
Worth the time
A great experience. Course in excellent condition. Not enough tee boxes to warm up before the round.
A good experience
Falls Road is a beautiful course in the Great Plains condition. I truly enjoyed myself.
Lovely County Owned Course
Never played Falls Road before and glad I did. Things were in great shape and the staff is super friendly.
Highly recommended
I would play this course again. Not overly challenging other than the greens running really fast and played fairly hard on approaches. The grounds are in great shape.
convenient -good range-family friendly
well run -convenient reasonable fees-short hitter and gender friendly-back nine better
In good shape
This isn't a particularly challenging layout, but the greens are rolling faster than I've seen in years past. The course overall is in good shape. Also, we got around in less than 4.5 hours on a Saturday morning in March. For $50, that's a pretty good value in this area.
