Hampshire
This is a great public course. Probably the best in the area. The only problem is that there is not enough staff to make sure players move quickly. Every time I play here it's a 5-5.5 hour round. Unfortunately most golfers think they are good and spend entirely too much time just to shank the ball. It seems that all of these golfers flock to this track.
Beautiful course!!!
The course was in fantastic shape. It does call for a lot of different shots with several elevated greens. Overall, I had a fantastic experience.
Beautiful Course
I've only been playing a couple of years, so I still consider myself a beginner. However, the fairways felt better than most of the greens that I've played on.in the past 2 years. The rough wasn't unforgiving. You'll still have a fighting chance. Although the greens were recently aerated, they were still in remarkable shape.
Course in good shape
Starter was just plain rude . After interacting with him I knew I'd made a mistake coming . The pace of play was about 3:30 hrs for 9 holes with a two group back up at every tee. It was so slow we left .
unhelpful staff, slow pace
Very slow pace, called the club house and nobody seemed to care, two players in my group actually gave it up and left after 4 or 5 holes
Fun Course but....
Right off the bat I have to say this was a fun and challenging course. The conditions of the fairways were fantastic..the greens...not so much. I paid 60 dollars for a round on a Sunday and wasn't told the greens had been punched a week or two prior. The top dressing wasn't great so the greens were not what I consider to be smooth. I'm sure in a week or two they will be great. I want to go back to try this place then. The layout is fun, and you have to be smart with your club selection. This course requires you to be smart with your club selection. DON'T WALK THIS COURSE! The reason, from some greens to the next hole is a long cart ride. I've never seen anything quite like this before and I play a lot. I didn't mind it, but it was kind of funny how far some of these holes are from one another. The staff seemed friendly and helpful, the clubhouse if inviting and well taken care of. Overall I would say give this place a try because it is worth it. Enjoy.
Hampshire Greens Review
Overall it is a nice course and the staff is friendly. Really dislike the blind tee shots and there are quite a few of them. Our pace of play was terribly slow because we were following a bunch of kids who must have been there for a coaching practice round. I am all for kids learning to play, but on course the first lesson should be pace of play and coaching should be left to the driving range. They had no consideration to keeping pace of play and often rehearsed practice shots 4 or 5 times before stepping away then doing it again. We got so frustrated one player left after a 3 hour front nine and we ended up going around the front again and finished in an hour and 10 minutes.
New favorite local course
Course was is in great condition. I had been playing Little Bennett as my local favorite but recently moved. My only complaint was slow play by the group in front of us and that we did not see a Course Marshall the entire round. That might have helped.
Lots of hazards if you miss the fairway.
There are lots of hazards if you miss the fairways. The sand traps are DEEP and hard to get out of. Accuracy is important so might not be the best course for everyone. On this particular day, the sprinklers kept coming on during our round. VERY annoying and disruptive. I would play again, but only if the price was a good deal.
I will not go back
This is a nice enough course but I've played here 3 times now and every time we play no matter what time we find it takes 5 to 6 hours to complete a round. The starter or manager rally need to manage the volume of people.
Course is fair to senior golfer from Green tees
The course was in great condition...amazing for a county course...and from green (white) tees, fair to a senior golfer...opportunity to hit middle irons to greens rather than woods on par 4s.
Good course with challenge
I haven't played in this course almost three years so I felt like a new comer. Surprisingly this was a good and challenging course, and I enjoyed golf fully for five hours. I enjoyed it partially because I hit balls very well with a slightly modified swing form. Putting was the only problem I had that hurt my score.Usually it costs $60~$80 for a round, but thanks to GolfNow and its voucher, I played with only $5.
Fair tees for seniors
Course was in very good condition. Greens rolled True. I liked the fact that they had Tan tees for seniors. Made the course fair for us old folks. Had a pleasant day. Golf now was the best rate . Had a great day shot 86 best at this course. Play this excellent golf course.
It was a good day.
This one of my favorite courses to play. It is always in good condition and the greens are second to none when it comes to speed. This just a nice course, the food is good and the layout is nice. If they made any changes to the course, I would like to see some water in front of one par threes. I man made pond. Overall, a nice course to spend the day.
Outstanding service form staff
Booked a tee time through golf now but course had no record of reservation. However they were able to accommodate my group. We were on the first tee within 15 minutes. Staff is very friendly from starter to beverage cart girl. Course plays great and pace of play was good.
Nice
Nice course , in good shape would recommend to other golfers.
Well cared!
Satisfied !
The course itself was in great shape. Greens rolling slower then usual but okay. Fairways great as well. Carts seemed new-ish. Water available often.
Only negative was the attitude of the pro shop attendant. He acted as if we as customers were a burden.(He said"We don't get any money from you!")
Overall?...Okay.
Thanks~
Great condition
The greens were in very good shape but extremely fast. Tees, sand and fairways also very good for November. An all around enjoyable day.
Should have stayed home!!!
It was 55 degrees and dropping. On the second hole the skies opened raining buckets and it was miserable. I only played 4 holes.
