Pleasant Valley Golf Club sits just south of Dulles airport, but the expansive layout, which is absent of homes, feels much more secluded. The parkland layout tumbles across a diverse landscape of rolling hills and grassy meadows covered with hardwood forests. There is plenty of diversity throughout the golf course with some holes that are bunker-less contrasting with the links holes that have Scottish-style bunkers. One of the most memorable holes is the par-5 fifth. After an uphill tee shot with a bunker on the right and a waste area on the left the second shot presents multiple choices. To the left you could take a risk with trees and a bunker but you could possibly be rewarded with a better angle for the third shot while the right side option will require a third shot over a large bunker to reach the green.

Excessively slow and condition, not worth the money.

First time playing Pleasant Valley. Course was not in great condition. Tee boxes we burned up and little grass. Fairways and rough was decent. Greens had recently been punched and were rough. Several spots on most greens had rough areas due to damage or loss of grass. Now on to the pace of play. Horrible with no Marshall. I was a single and took well over 4 hours to play. Was behind a foursome the entire back nine. The round was, with no exaggeration, hit then wait at least five to ten min for the next shot.

A nice course to play!

I really enjoyed this course. While the greens are not in the best condition, the rest of the course is good. The staff is super friendly and everyone there seems to be easy going. Would definitely come back!

This course is not worth the money.

First time playing the course and was extremely disappointed. Looks like the owners are letting this course go as the mowing was terrible and not consistent.

I hit the ball into hole #5’s front green side bunker and taking my shot with hit a pipe and caused me to loose my ball as the pipe was only 1/4” inches Nader the surface of the sand. I informed the pro shop and was told they will tell the superintendent. But didn’t get a feeling they would do to the attitude of the response.

I will never play this course again as it’s not worth the money.

Always a great course to play

Pleasant Valley played well during that day despite a bit chilly day weekend. It had been a while since last playing the course but after a few holes, I was back to remembering the layout. Appreciated the pace of play which included how my group played ready Golf. Given the next chance on TeeOff, I will come back and play.

Fairways and Greens need better maintenance

Pleasant Valley is one of the better courses in Virginia, one of my favorites from the layout. I’m not sure what has happened to the maintenance of this course. The cart path are almost new in excellent shape but the course is in terrible conditions and the price is still high to play - unacceptable in my opinion.

Overpriced. Underdelivered.

The greens, tees and fairways are diseased and they’re charging $80 for a round here? Delusional. Course should probably be closed but they’re making money without a conscious. Oh, and it took 1 hour to play the first 3 holes. 5.5 hour round. Poorly run facility, at best.

Worst in the area

$94 for this course is a slap in the face. TERRIBLE conditions. Standing water, diseased greens, rough is never cut and the tee boxes look like FedEx field after a Metallica concert.

Destroyed. AVOID AVOID AVOID.

You will remember this review if you still decide to give this ‘Golf Course’ a chance.

Needs some TLC

From tee to green, some of the holes especially 1 and 2 are just bad. I don't see how they can charge premium prices and not make the needed improvements. Everything else including the bunkers, grass practice tees, and friendly staff were in A OK.

Bad Conditions

This course is in extremely bad condition. The fairways are torn up on almost every hole and the greens are no better. It was a frustrating to say the least after paying a premium rate.

Pick up the clippings!

There was so much grass clippings that everything was covered in grass after the round. Greens and fairways had large dead spots… overall this course was garbage…
