A hidden secret in Northern Virginia
I've had the pleasure of playing Piedmont a few dozen times and have thoroughly enjoyed each time. The course is always in excellent shape (and, much better shape than most other courses in Northern Virginia), more challenging with pretty tight fairways, and very walkable.
While there are a number of very enjoyable, challenging and picturesque holes, I enjoy the par 5 #18 -- one of the nicer holes in Northern Virginia with an approach shot towards the club house, sand in front, and mountain background.
Positives:
-- Always in excellent condition
-- Great pace of play (I've walked in 3h30m and average quicker than a 4h round)
-- More challenging than most in the area
Negatives:
-- Driving range is a few minute golf cart ride away
Overall, I'd highly recommend this golf course to anyone that can get on or any Club Corp member.
Outstanding Course
This is a private course but was able to play with a member. Course is challenging but very playable if you know where to play the shots.
Greens were fast and true, fairways were a little wet but at this time of year not an issue.
