Great first time
Course was clean, well maintained & pace was perfect for such a hot day. Professional staff, friendly & courteous. Overall great time.
Classic Design; Bent Greens holding up under the summer heat.
Classic layout; some par 4s repetitive, but overall friendly layout and smooth putting surfaces.
Solid Course
Course is not very long but definitely challenging. Greens were pretty fast which my group enjoyed. Fairways were a little narrow but it made it a little more fun/ frustrating. Overall we had a great time and will absolutely play again if we stay in Lake of the Woods again.
Great value
Only real downside is that the entire course is chalked full of houses. However, course is interesting and in good shape. Afternoon rates are great value.
Standard Course - Pro shop staff not very welcoming
Course is decent but pro shot staff attendant wasn’t the most welcoming. Answers to questions were short and he didn’t appear wanting to really assist. Seemed to us that due to the congestion of tee times he was more interested in getting all groups moving.
Woods
Probably the best round thus far for me this season
Coarse was in excellent shape fairways hit soft and greens were in the best shape in a long time.
I play a good amount at this coarse and really enjoy it especially the staff here they are always friendly!!
Fairly narrow layout winding thru a neighborhood, not overly long, but challenging.. Good conditions tee thru green, especially the bunkers. Some of the best I've seen around Central VA as of 08/31/21. Played and just under 3 hours as a single on Tues afternoon and still had a single hacking it around right behind me the whole day. Meanwhile stuck behind a slow 2some the entire front 9. Clubhouse staff could do a little better pairing up groups to keep consistent pace throughout the course, but otherwise a nice day
Ho Hum
Out in the middle of nowhere in a private looks like retirement community with every hole surrounded by modest homes. Not a whole lot of character but it seemed like Zoysia fairways so a few of the lies were very nice to hit off of. There was not enough to want to drive that far to ever play again. I am sure it is fine for all of the retirees but not for the golfer who expects better.

This course plays fluid
First time playing this course and I was shocked at how great the condition of the fairways and greens were compared to other courses in the area. Priced lower than most courses. Course is designed and plays well for an average golfer, like myself. I will without a doubt play here again and again.
This course is very challenging, but fun!
Narrow fairways, and trees lined on both sides forces you to hit a straight drive. Greens are decent but quick.
Sad conditions
Started with a group in front of us taking over 25 minutes on the first hole. It continued with finding the greens we punched an had a disease . It ended when we finished the front in just under 3 hours and decided it was best to cut our loses. Would not recommend this course to anyone
