Solid course lay out
I've played auburn hills several times. It's a good course. Jeff, the pro is solid and takes care of his players.
Fun and challenging
Good price. Makes you shape your shot both ways. Lots of risk reward/ layup scenarios. Top shelf kind staff.
Nice course for the money
It’s a very scenic course in SW Virginia. Course is tight so you need precision. Only complaint is some good shots don’t get rewarded and some trees can be cut down to make the course more open. I will definitely recommend to people and play at Auburn Hill again.
Great for the money
Such a fun course to play. The course is short but challenges you with diverse altitudes, pin locations, and the occasional tight fairway. Always in great shape. All types of players commune from scratch shooters to first timers, truly a judgement free round of golf.
Fun Layout
Great mix of holes and interesting elevations. The staff is friendly. We especially enjoyed the par threes. The greens are big but not particularly fast. In my opinion, it’s a must play.
FANTASTIC greens
Played this morning. The greens there were pretty much perfect.
Great value.
Maintenance/Upkeep Non-Existent
Auburn Hills really let my group down. We should have known when the range had baskets everywhere, flipped cart stands, and grass longer than my garden. Course conditions were the killing factor - the fairway grass was indistinguishable from the rough, as if it hadn’t been mowed in months. Bunkers were spilling onto grass around them. Tee box markers weren’t being adjusted so tee boxes were torn up. Greens were decent - and the only saving factor from a 1 star. Overall, quality similar to playing a round on your front lawn. And all for $40? No thanks.
Nice day on the course
Played with some friends and had a great day on the course..Ar times a little slow but the staff and course conditions are great...we will be back!
inviting laid back course
Me and my wife love playing different courses. We have visited Southwest, VA multiple times and enjoy the area. We were very impressed with the COVID precautions that were put in place as well as the friendly staff welcoming. The course is wide open, fun with small challenging greens.
Auburn Hills GC
The course played well today. We felt the the rough was cut down a bit too low. With the slope to the fairways sometimes it's impossible to not have a ball roll toward the rough. That by itself is ok but when it's cut too short the ball rolls through the rough into real trouble.
The greens were in pretty good shape. Too bad golfers don't learn how to repair a divot on the greens or in the fairways. That's not the courses fault, they can't keep up with the volume. It's the lazy golfers fault!
Love this track
Love this up and down mountain track. Wide open on most holes, other than the tough par 5s. Lots of chances to gamble and pres too. Greens roll well and are all big time tiered. Loved this place and will be back soon.
Yep. This 100% Add to that the 5.5hrs it took to play 18 holes today along with the "clubhouse" not taking the bait when we inquired about being members and I for one can tell you that there's no chance that we'll ever play that course again and it's a shame.
Auburn Hills could be a really nice change of pace course, they just don't care.
