MIDLOTHIAN, VA (April 16, 2002) -- Ault, Clark & Associates, Ltd. one of the most prolific golf course architecture companies in the country has recently promoted Eric Ault (third generation golf architect) to Partner.
Since it was founded in 1958 by Edmund Ault, the Maryland based firm of Ault, Clark & Associates, Ltd. has been designing and renovating golf course facilities across the country and around the world including the TPC at Avenel (Potomac, MD - home of the Kemper Open) and Hayfields Country Club (Ellicott City, MD - host venue for the State Farm Senior Open). Though Edmund Ault passed away in 1988, Erics father, Brian Ault is currently president of the firm and a renowned member of the American Society of Golf Course Architects.
Having joined the company a little over 10 years ago, Eric learned the business of golf architecture - in apprenticeship fashion - under the tutelage of Brian and his long-time partner Tom Clark. In that time Eric has participated in every aspect of the trade and been an integral part of numerous projects including Worthington Manor Golf Club (in Urbana, MD), the South Course at Andrews AFB (in Camp Springs, MD) and two courses for the State of Kentucky Parks Department. Erics current workload includes projects in China, Costa Rica, and Honduras.
In addition to his architecture duties (and marketing, and advertising, and assorted office administration), one of Erics biggest achievements has been his successful campaign to integrate computer technology into the companys daily operations. When he started with the firm, they had one computer and had never heard of CAD now every employee has a computer on the office network, Client presentations are given on laptops, half of their documents are exchanged electronically, and nearly every project we work on includes some computer aided plan work and / or three dimensional computer graphics.
Additionally, Eric is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the companys website, www.acagolf.com. He continues to seek out and learn new technologies to determine whether they might have a place in the business of golf design.
Though his grandfather never even owned a computer, and his father much prefers pencil and paper, Eric strives to apply new methods while continuing the tradition and the philosophy of his predecessors and now partners at Ault, Clark & Associates, Ltd.
Please feel free to contact Eric or Ault, Clark & Associates, Ltd. for any additional information.
