Hell's Point Golf Club
About
When Hell's Point Golf Club opened in 1982, Golf Digest called it one of the best new courses and it was ranked as one of the 100 best-designed courses in the country. Renowned architect Rees Jones designed the course. He incorporated the many natural features provided by the golf course's location in the Back Bay National Wildlife Refuge. The fairways are edged with saltwater marshes and Jones included his signature sculpted bunkers along the greensides. Just a stone's throw from the ocean, the golf course is as scenic as it is challenging. The second hole is one of southeastern Virginia's toughest golf holes with out-of-bounds to the left, trees to the right, and a sloped fairway that leads to a well guarded, double-tiered green. This par 4 is the no. 1 handicap hole at When Hell's Point Golf Club.

The greens were in great shape. Photo submitted by wadedaffinee on 07/23/2014
Wet
Very rare that I play there and it’s not cart path only. Course does not drain well. The greens were being arreated. If we would of known probably would booked elsewhere.
Noah
Great course and incredible value for the price. Carts were good, staff was absolutely outstanding and had a great time!

Course was well maintained for it being February. Greens are very slow, other than that it was a great day. Hells Point always does a great job!
Not well managed
I know it was busy, but why handout two people two carts. When it was cart path only. Knowing that the course was going to be busy.
18th green
The last par fire greens looks stress out difficult putting… otherwise a great experience this course brings
Stay away
The only thing I can say is good at this place was the golf cart. It was fast, you will want that cause you are going to want to get it done as quickly as possible.
H Point (won’t let me say the name of the course…lol)
Great course! Nice layout, friendly staff, no one there day we played and price through GolfNow was amazing!
Fairways and greens were in great shape, tee boxes were not. I liked the course a lot, will definitely be back
Pure Joy
Today was the 4th time I've been to this course in the oast 2 months and I have had a great time each and every single time I have came here to play a round of golf. Staff is outstanding and answer any questions you have about the course it's ammemtities or just general golf information. I brought my wife and son to play with me today and the fact thst they give you a small icechest with ice to keep your beverages cold (atleast the adult ones) was wonderful in our eyes. My wife and son are beginners to golf and the fact that each time they have came with me to this course they leave saying how much they like the course and such makes me want to return more and more. The holes are challenging yet fair. Some of the greens are being worked on which is understandable this time of year and the tee boxes are in decent shape ( some of them need attention for sure) and the sand traps are hit n miss aa far as being soft or hard as a rock which in all honesty doesn't bother me cause I've yet to play a course in the hampton roads area where this isn't an issue. The only complaint I csn truly give is the cart path conditions are horrid in several sections but even if they never get fix will not stop me from coming bsck or recommending this course to someone..
Overall decent course
The course was overall decent. Kinda weird layout, some cool water holes, a lot of sand traps. Some long holes. Challenging.
But the course was in okay shape, most of the tee boxes were flat out awful but the course was okay. The geeens were recently aerated but in decent enough shape. Still didn’t like paying full price for that or greens fees. And beers / food were decent priced.
Best spot in 757?
Seems like the best course around. Looks like a cut above the rest.
