Ford's Colony Country Club - Marsh Hawk Course

Played 18 on the blue heron it was pretty good but not as nice as the back nine of Marsh hawk

The Average ratings are only due to dormant winter grass in December, it was fortunate to have a sunny 75 degree day in December! Jackpot baby

I don't understand why they took the Tee Box markers off the course, but it was kind of annoying trying to figure out where I was supposed to tee off from! Also, a lot of the yardage markers were missing the actual yardage and that was frustrating because my phone died using the golf GPS system. Plus, this is an older course so the golf carts don't have charging portals. I guess compared to the last time we played there things have definitely gone downhill!

After overnight rain the course had standing water on the fairways. Still very playable..... hands down the best greens around, rolling fast and true. Cant wait to play here again.

A nice day in November at Ford’s Colony Blackheath. Bermuda grass is going dormant but everything is in great shape. The maintenance staff is doing a great job keeping the fall leaves out of the fairways! Thanks Ford’s Colony for offering great value to your GolfNow customers! My friends and I will be back soon.

Of the three courses at Ford's Colony, Blue Heron is the most scenic. I like the use of water on many holes. The course is in winter condition but greens are still running quick. The only criticism I will raise is some bunkers need drainage work. Fairways, rough and tee boxes look good,

This was a beautiful, interesting course. The variety of holes kept play challenging. The service and ambience of the club was very good.

Our tee time was set for Marsh Hawk, not...Black Heath...
Therefore, my rating is specific to Marsh Hawk. Cart paths should be better marked to be able to follow the course in correct sequence. That is our only recommendation. Great day!

We play Fords Colony a lot because we are Marriott owners. Generally I would give F.C 4 stars but not on the day we played. Course condition has always been great, Bag drop staff, great! We made the mistake of trying to get a hot dog and a beer at the turn. We walked in saw plenty of staff but we were completely ignored. After 10 minutes someone that looked like a manger waited on us. So now 15 minutes. Luckily the gents behind us had the same idea, we warned them. Two holes later the ranger chastised us and threatened we needed to pick up. We explained about the turn but he didn't care. Then proceeded to follow us for the next 3 holes. Totally ruined our day! Oh, be warned, F.C. adds their gratuity on everything you buy, even a hot dog.

Played both the black Marsh and blue heron courses. Like the blàck better with more interesting course management choices. Great shape and friendly staff. Only suggestion would be more signage to navigate course.

Course is always in great shape and the greens are very challenging to putt. Recommend to anyone or group to play.
Course has two more eighteen holes courses available to play which makes great if you want to set up a weekend with friends.

Bag drop was easy and the carts were out and ready to go. The check in was simple and quick, I received a code for range balls and the range was in good shape, with plenty of tee boxes to hit from. The practice putting greens were in fantastic shape. The course is in great condition, the fairways were trimmed down very well, the bunkers were all raked and looking good(thank goodness I only had to play out of 1. The greens are in perfect condition and the balls were fast!! There were a few restrooms located on the course, and there were ice machines with cold water at each rest stop!! Overall, one of the best rounds I have paid for!!

Really enjoyed the Black Heath course, especially playing from the forward tees. The yardage advantage allowed for a competitive game but not overwhelming. Perfect for seniors who have lost some distance from their game.

Great course, however, front nine took close to three hours. Good thing the group in front quit after nine or we would not be in before dark. No ranger on course! Beverage cart passed us on way to first tee, not to be seen again. Disappointing for a course as good as Ford's Colony.

They provided super service: help load and unload bags for free, even clean the clubs when returning the cart.
The play pace is controlled well from the starter, no felling of being packed.
I was only surprised they do not give free balls for practice at such rate.
The day was sunny but course was wet due to the rain two days ago. The rule for the day is cart path only. Walking is difficult at the long yardage. Except that everything is perfect.

Course was in great shape. Greens are fast a run true. Overall layout will be challenging for all levels of golfer's.

Played the Blackheath Course & could not ask for a better experience. From the bag drop, front desk & starter, everyone was friendly and helpful. Pace of play was the best all week. Excellent course conditions. Will certainly make a return visit.

This was a return visit to Fords Colony. Always a warm welcome, very helpful staff. 5 hr round, could have been faster, but otherwise an enjoyable day. Will certainly return.
