The Gauntlet Golf Club
About
The Gauntlet is situated along the banks of the lake that is the centerpiece of Curtis Memorial Park. When it first opened in 1995, Golf Digest recognized it as one of the "top ten new courses to play in the U.S." This challenging layout will definitely test your shot making abilities. The golf course begins with a tough front nine that has several sharp doglegs over water and tall grasses. There are also a slew of blind shots. The back nine is a bit gentler since there's less water and it is more open and forgiving, but the large, multi-tiered greens can be tricky. The fourth hole is the golf course's signature. Your tee shot will have to carry a marsh to a narrow landing area on this par 5. After that, you'll be faced with a triple-tiered green with the lake to the left and bunkers to the right.

Washed out
Recently redid the greenes a lot of bare spots, all the traps were washed out. the front nine had a lot of blind shots many holes with bells to let the group behind you know when they can hit. the back nine was a little more traditional.
Growing
The change of the course over the last couple of years has been great. New management has helped build this course. Familiar faces with professional staff and a challenging layout make this a fun course!
Challenging and fun course
Course is challenging but fun. Well maintained and the staff is great/very friendly. Great conditions in the middle of December and pace of play was great while having a busy morning.
What a disappointment
Based on recent review I gave this course a try. Greens in desperate need of repair. Sand traps with no sand.
His course needs some serious investment and rebuild. Close to a 5 hour round is about as bad as golf gets. Don’t waste your time or money.
It’s ok
The course is okay but not well kept, the greens are patchy and not well kept and definitely not worth the money to play here.
Challenging Course
Love the challenge of this course. A lot of doglegs right and dogleg lefts. Over half the holes are not visible from tee box. Front 9 was more challenging than back nine. But overall the course was scenic and peaceful and a lot of fun. Will definitely return very soon for another round.
Amazing layout
First time I played the Gauntlet course. Every hole was challenging, like the designer went wild with ideas. Hazards just where you don't want them, multi-level greens. A little of everything. You'd never be able to play this course the same way twice. Course, especially the greens, was in fine shape.
A course worth playing.
I haven’t played here in several months. Course is in great shape. Paths still need a little attention but that’s a minor flaw considering the improvements made here over the last couple years or so. Pro shop is well set out and the new clubhouse set up puts many other local courses to shame. All staff are polite and pleasant to deal with and most fellow golfers are really friendly.
Great coarse
Really enjoy playing at the G. Coarse is challenging but fun. Staff is awesome
Better shape than expected
The course is in pretty good shape , only couple of the greens were rough, the ladies in golf shop and restaurant and very friendly and courteous, definitely would play again
Great first experience
I came to the course for the first time yesterday. Drizzly day and very quiet on the course. Had no idea what to expect. Pro shop was closed but the bartender on duty Debra was very friendly and knowledgeable about the course. Told me current rates and all that was going on with the greens. Knowledgeable about the beers on tap and in cans as well as the food listed on the menu. Also quite knowledgeable about golf. It was a great course and a great day. I would recommend this course 10/10 if someone wants a good day where they walk in a feel like they are at home.
Will definitely be back soon to play golf. But honestly I would come back anytime for a drink and a good conversation with Debra, spectacular service and a very polite, well spoken woman. If her father or mother is on her I applaud you for how you raised her. And to the owner of the course I applaud you for how well trained and knowledgeable she is.
Great day.
Great experience
Paid full rate for course under construction
I played this course a few months ago and it was in good shape. This time, not so much as they had multiple holes with temporary greens. The greens that weren't temporary were also not in great shape. They claimed that the greens were aerated, but it appeared more than aeration as being the issue with the conditions of the green. I'm fine with paying a course that is being worked on as long as i know ahead of time of the condition of the course and the greens fee set accordingly. This course needs to ensure that they post the current condition of the course and adjust the fees accordingly.
They got some issues
Lost several greens, but they working hard on it be nice by fall.
