Bayside Resort Golf Club
About
Bayside Resort Golf Club has a scenic location overlooking Assawoman Bay. The club boasts one of the Ocean City area's only Jack Nicklaus-designed golf courses. The course stretches to a whopping 7,545 yards from the signature tees, offering plenty of holes for long hitters. Nicklaus created a tough test of golf that features a wide variety of holes. The natural wetlands and woodlands were not only carefully preserved but also incorporated into the course to provide interesting hazards. Although natural hazards abound, there are also several strategically placed bunkers lurking throughout the golf course. In addition to being a challenge, many of the holes also take advantage of the beautiful views of the coastline. It is a formidable but fair course that is made more approachable to different skill levels with four other sets of tees.

This course
Great course and a little challenging from all tees. If you hit it long it may be a pain to play from the signature tees but the landing areas are set up for your distance.
Best course around
What a great track! Greens were perfect. Smooth and fastest in Ocean City area. GPS in carts wasn't the best I've seen and really not that helpful. Would have liked to play back tees at 7500 yds but they were not out. Range is just as nice as course. Staff was very helpful and super nice. Just a great course.
Slow Play
Great course - but a 5 hour round. No rangers to speed up play
Too hard for fun
I know you can always move up a set of tees but at 6400 yards I felt like I was where I was supposed to be but the course rating was140. That is the highest I have seen at that length. Don't get me wrong, everything at Bayside is top notch. It deserves all of its awards and high rankings of Top 100 Public Courses. From its pro shop, to its practice facility, layout and condition it is beautiful. There just seemed to be so much trouble everywhere. The greens were so well protected as where the approach shots. I just seemed to be taking such long routes to the greens to avoid the trouble which often was placed in the fairway. Must play again to see if it was as hard as I believe. If you can' carry the ball a long way in the air stay home.
excellent course
challenging Nicklaus design, playing course for first time was not easy to navigate the many hazards
Strange layout and long playing time
First, don't try to walk this course. there are so many long drives between holes that it is virtually impossible. There are a lot of really strange holes on this course. You better have someone with you who has played it before because it is not obvious when you need to hit a lay up or favor one side of the fairway. Conditions are pretty good, but the holes are just so strange that I can't recommend this course. It really does not live up to its reputation. Yes, it's difficult, but it is difficult because it is odd and frankly not really fair. the 18th hole may be the worst golf hole I have ever played. In order to play it well you need to hit a drastic hook or forget about the green on your second shot. Not worth the traffic or the cost.
Not as good as advertised
A very challenging course in the best conditions, but we played just after a rain, so greens were very slow. Cart rules were 90 degree which effected pace of play to the point the ranger was pushing us which was ridiculous for a resort course and the conditions. He was downright rude. We ended up 8 minutes off scheduled timing. Our foursome won't go back.
Scenic tough test of golf
First time Playing here. Very enjoyable round of golf. Played blended tees and it was very manageable. I would play the green tees next time. Greens were nice and smooth. Not ridiculously fast, but fair.
Scenery was beautiful and the two golfers I got paired with made the day enjoyable. Birdied 18 to make a great day!
Tough test
Bayside is a very challenging, but fun, track. We enjoyed ourselves, but did have a few issues with the experience. First, range balls were included with our golfnow reservation, but the range was closed for an event the following day. Next, cart service stopped after the 7th hole. We teed off at 12:30, so it wasn't a late start. The temperature was 95 degrees and it actually became dangerous out there. Luckily, there were a couple water coolers on the back nine, but not having a drink cart was dangerous on a day like this. Finally, the halfway house was also closed on this day. The inability to get food or a drink once out on the course took away from our experience. Golf itself was great.
Excellent Course
One of the best courses I've played, with respect to the natural environment it was created in. Beautiful marsh setting with glimpses of the bay and the typical array of bunkers and water obstacles you expect to find on a Troon designed course.
course conditions
Played course from the tips, very challenging, tee's fairways in great shape , greens were still recovering from aeration, rough cut is starting to dry out, would play again,
The course is interesting
The course is interesting ... The greens were terrible slow from aeration
beautiful day
Great views, perfect fairways and super staff. Finished the day with a cold one watching the US Open at the Cove. Hung out with some mallards and saw a red fox along the way. What a day!
Awesome
Wonderful course. Beautiful layout with a different challenge on every hole.
Get the course booklet and be sure to look over each hole before you tee off.
New Favorite
Played a lot of courses in DE. Got off right on time and pace was great. Great condition and staff made it easy to get in and get around.
Great Day
A challenge but fun. Had a great day at Bayside! Pace of play was great, greens were great. Use the bag drop when you pull in to the course very friendly staff.
Among top courses in Ocean City
Excellent layout and views. Very challenging, but manageable when playing target golf.
Worst Mother's Day!
Let me start by saying everyone from the starters to the bar manager where very sympathetic to these issued and did everything they could to help. The manager/golf pro was a pompous jerk and it seemed beneath him to have to address these issues or help in any way. 1st it took over a half hour to figure out how to ring up the golf now discount price. 2nd no GPS! They are suppose to have it. Third when I asked for a pin placement sheet the golf pro said no one has asked for a pin sheet since Jim Furyk played there! He did however bring me a pin sheet then explain to me it was the hardest course I will ever play and to just shoot for the middle of the green. Then there was only water on the 12th hole to drink. No beverage kart. And the snack shack was closed at the turn. I tried to buy a drink out of the vending machine and it took my money! This place was not prepared to do any business other then handle its members. I will spend 150 bucks somewhere else next time. Hey starter thanks for the POWERADE when I am back in town in August I will take you to play somewhere else if you want.
I played the course and the pro gave me the same tip I am aimed for the center of the greens and had the best round I ever had.
#1 in DE
After playing Bayside I now know why it is rated #1 in the State. From check in till I left the property great experience.
Just a fantastic coure
From the minute you drive in you know you are in for a treat. The course was in excellent shape and the greens were very fast but rolling true. Very challenging course with tons of water and sand that our group had no problem finding. Somehow teed off at 8:30 and didn't see a soul all day - amazing! Staff was very nice and the clubhouse grille is great.
Just a suggestion.....been playing golf a long time and still have 8 hdcp. 6400 yards is way too long for a 15-19 hdcp.....suggest between 6000- 6200 max and you'll enjoy the game a lot more.
