First time
It is my understanding this course is under new management and that significant improvements have been made over the last year. Liked the layout - greens were very slow and should b cut shorter. Biggest area of need is the tee boxes - they were not in good condition. For the price a very good value.
Day and night difference in two years
There is day and night difference between the greens I played two years ago and now. When I played two years ago I said never again. But new management has put new greens in and it has changed the look of golf course. I hope they put some fertilizer on fairways. Will come back again
Still working on it
5 stars today for the fact they continue to work on Patriots. Played 3 weeks ago and noticed even more things done.. The commitment to making this great layout fantastic again is solidly moving forward.
Grass in fairways is growing. Got a good amount of run cause they were hard. Traps seemed to be maintained ( I avoided them today) and the greens stay very full and lush, but continue to be slow. . PLEASE, EVERYONE, fix your divot and one other one. It’s not hard to do.
Moved up to the gold tees today cause I was playing with a few older players. A little over 6000 yards on the card, but still hinges were moved up on most holes. Shot a sold 47-43 with my first ever birdie on the hardest hole on the course. Currently #17.
Not sure why one of my guys in my group doesn’t like Patriots, but I will continue to play here and recommend others to do so.
Patriots Glen
Course was well kept and scenic. 19th hole has a great atmosphere.
Still improving
Greens are the best thing here, at this time. Very full and again, a little on the long and slow side. Fairways just starting to show signs of growth, now with some warmer temperatures.
For me, the layout is the star here. It is what keeps me playing here. Holes are predominantly tree lined and secluded. The 2 par 3s on the back are a little bland, but the 16th does play about 170 from the white tees. So no gimmie . Shot 48-41 with a birdie on 11 from the whites .
Patriot’s is still moving in the right direction.
It's gonna be stellar!
Played here prior to the new ownership and again today. It has come a long way in a short period of time, very pleased! Super friendly staff. The greens were in very nice shape. The fairways are much better ( not perfect). Tons of wooded area clean ups have been done. You can see a big difference. The layout is very fun. Seeing the clubhouse on your approach to the 18th green is nice! That balcony is going to get plenty of use. Bravo, keep up the good work! We will be back!
Patriots Glen keeps getting Better
Patriots Glen is continuing to improve. Grrens are really nice and plush. Super friendly staff, superb restaurant.
Waiting for it to come back to life
Always loved this course back in the day. I recognize they are trying to bring it back to life but….,fairways are none existent at this time. They really should have over seeded fairways 30 days ago. The problem is big money that is needed to over seed properly which I get. . Greens have really come back but very slow, need to be cut lower.
I will continue to wait and hope they can bring back to life. Love the course design.
An investment in the future of this course
As in the title I have no issues with this course as they are clearly dropping some coin to bring it back.
Yes the grass is dormant but I didn’t notice weeds yet. The greens have been punched, sanded and are still being conditioned for the upcoming season. They are slow and hairy but I’ll wait for the staff to complete their work then I’ll comment on the results
I like the track and look forward to what happens after we get three nights over 55.
All should make extra efforts to head here, pay the greens fees and support the folks that are clearly dropping cash on labor, chemicals etc.
Go there and support the trax
Disapointed
If u can't say something nice about the course...say nothing at all...the bar and their staff were the best part
AERATION March 6-7
Played March 6. Because of aeration, played the 9 holes that end with the par 4 twice. That’s what they are calling the front 9. Sorry, it’s never what I want to do when expecting to play 18. Cart path only made for a longer day.
No aeration on the 9 we played. Greens were well covered with grass and a bit slow. Fairways showed some new growth, but still 50/50 at best. A lot more work has been done sence I last played last summer. The driving range and putting green were closed. No place to practice any kind of swing,.
I’m glad to actually see work getting done at Patriots. I have always LOVED the layout, and have played here when the course was a lot closer to 5 stars than 3. I am hopeful this time, with this new ownership, when I return in a few months, Patriots Glen will be back on its way to 4+ stars where , in my mind, it deserves to be. . My fingers are crossed!!
can't wait to see the results of the courses efforts
First time at the course. The layout is fun and far from boring up and back holes. The prior group didn't maintain the course as one can see in the fairway conditions but I'm certain this group has that in a plan of action as spring growth begins soon.
The course itself is a wet course so we had to cart path only, the house is very walkable with only one long path between the holes.
As far as the greens that are a lot of fun to play on and hopefully the players repair ball marks as the greens are soft. I look forward to when the greens are rolled and cut
overall the course staff is clearly working on creating a great walkable track and and all should support their efforts
