About

Goose Creek Golf Club in Leesburg, Virginia offers a challenging layout that will have you using every club in your bag. The layout has small greens that are difficult to read and narrow, winding fairways lined with thick rough. There are also strategically placed bunkers framing the greens. With numerous uphill, downhill, and blind tee shots, accuracy is essential to scoring well on this golf course. Several holes on the back nine run alongside Goose Creek, providing some of the best scenery on the course. The creek and a few ponds provide water hazards on some of the holes. The course is a formidable test but diverse enough to appeal to both low and high handicappers but the affordable rates are what make Goose Creek G.C. especially appealing.

Decent Couse, Slow Pace
Goose Creek is a decent course for the price. The course was well maintained for having such a rough winter. We got behind two incredibly slow groups, which seems to be hard to avoid around here. The holes are piled on top of each other, so there's a lot of hitting from adjacent fairways and balls coming at you at all times. You definitely need to pay attention. Overall, it's not a bad deal through GolfNow. I don't think I'd pay the full price. While the speed of play really hurt my experience, I would probably try it again.
Good for money
This course is nothing special but good for what you pay. Still, I don't think it's worth driving from DC.
Great golf course
Great course! I love to play their and do appreciate the staff attitude! Worth coming back!
great winter round course
great golf now hot deal rate and the course was in very playable shape. always friendly staff and a quick round because it was in the 40's but sunny that day. when the snow melts i'll be back.
Enjoyable Course;
The course is well maintained, leaves picked up, greens in pretty good shape; Always a fun place to play.
Pace was alright for our foursome, although we had to wait the first few holes because of slower players ahead of us.
Course is in great shape
The course can tend to be tight with woods and fairways running very closely together. The course itself is in great condition but the greens would benefit greatly from people repairing their ballmarks.
The staff was very friendly.
Course was in good condition for November, greens were a little pitted.
fast greens
Haven't played that course in a long time , I forgot how hard it was to score on it. Great deal for golf now price.
A good course for the price
In Northern Va this course is a good bang for your buck when you get a deal, or week rate. Would not pay their full price weekend rate, totally not worth it.
Esthetically pleasing, good variety, lots of elevation changes, slow play.
A Golf Now special of less than $30 made this a real bargain. Old style course (Ben Hogan holds course record of 59) with lots of elevation changes and very nice scenery provides a pleasant afternoon. Course was in good shape despite recent aeration. Enough 370+ par 4's to make it a challenge with a few 400+ par 4's thrown in from the white tees. Play is slow at this public course with twosomes and couples being common. Pack a lunch and clear your schedule - its worth a try.
Beautifully Maintained Course
Goose Creek is one of the best maintained courses in Norther Virginia. The tee boxes are completely grass covered without any bald spots. The Fairways are clean and generously open with moderate trees along the perimeters. The greens are groomed to perfection but most are difficult because of slopes requiring big break putts.
Nice course but trouble with the pace
I've played here twice and both times the course was packed and there was a lack of Marshall presence. The first time we booked for 18, we end up playing 11 in 4 and 1/2 hours and decided we didn't want to play the rest. This past time we booked 18 and after the 7th we asked for a rain check for the back 9 becuase the pace was so poor.
Very pleasant course
The last time I played Goose Creek was several years ago, and it was not in very good shape. This time, it was in very good shape, and a pleasure to play. I'll come back more often.
You get what you pay for
For $17 through Golf Now, the course was okay. It wouldn't be worth more than that. The greens were parched, the fairways were in decent condition and the bunkers were akin to hitting off gravel paths (which could benefit those caught in fairway bunkers and in need of a long iron to get out). The gas carts often sputtered along, there was no starter on a Thursday afternoon and the course marshall (if any) was non-existent.
Again, the course was worth the $17 reduced price, but I certainly would not pay top dollar to play here again.
Course upgrades
Needs GPS in carts. Needs driving range. Needs beer cart.
Great golf course with some unfortunate challenges
Firstly, course and greens are in fantastic shape .
Plenty of challenge, even for a 6400+/- yd course.
Now the cons:
Adjacent to a quarry. If they are open, unbelievably noisy.
The front is pretty close to some busy roads, so when you get away from the quarry, still lots of traffic background noise.
Some of the holes are pretty tight, so keep your eyes open for errant shots.
I'd go back, but only when I know the quarry is closed.
This course is a must play.
If you are in the Northern Virginia area, this golf course should be on your list to play. It has an excellent layout, with every hole being very different and offering a challenge to even the better player. The course was in great shape, and a pleasure to play.
Can not go wrong.
Nice course, excellent value for the money. Fairways and greens in good conditions.
Good Old School Course
Goose Creek is now over 50 years young and is still a good place to play a nice round. Most of the fairways are generous and the greens are in relatively good shape considering the amount of play the course gets. There's really not a lot of trouble out there so high handicappers can have an enjoyable round. It had been years since I played the course and it was the first time I had seen the rearrangement of the front nine which was necessary because of the loss of some land when Route 7 was expanded to 4 lanes and a new interchange was built for River Creek Pkwy some years ago. I have to say I liked the new layout and one thing the reshuffle did was to get rid of the #9 green as we used to know it which was always a poorly designed green and provided for some really unfair and unplayable hole locations back in the day.
The only real complaint we had was that play was very slow. Everyone was moving along, just not very quickly. It wasn't clear exactly what was causing the slow play, but there certainly were a lot of folks out there for mid-day on a Wednesday. Luckily, my partner and I are both retired so we were in no particular hurry but we did have to wait on quite a few tees and some approach shots as well. All in all, though, I would play here again as it's a bargain on Golfnow or even at the regular 55+ age rates.
THE COURSE WAS A CHALLANGE BECAUSE OF THE TERRAIN
THE EXPERIENCE WAS ENJOYABLE AND THE COURSE CONDITION ACCEPTABLE MAYBE BECAUSE OF THE RECENT RAINS. I CANNOT RECALL A DRYOUT AREA ANYWHERE ON THE COURSEMISSING WERE MARSHALLS AND REFRESHMENT CARTS AND A STARTER BUT WAS NOT IMPORTANT THE DAY I PLAYED BECAUSE IT WAS A UNEVENTFUL DAY.
