Great course
This can be a challenging course. Ball placement is important. The course is always in great shape. Very good for the price. I join the membership for $95.
Challenging and fun, beautiful views
Short course, very tight fairways. In good shape, probably the best views of the Potomac you will find. Starter could do a better job of teaming people up. There are more par three's than normal but a good solid course to play when you desire target golf. Hazards on most holes.
Not long but chalenging
Extremely friendly staff, great value with the golfnow teetime.
one of the good golf course
I've been here twice this year.
Staffs are very friendly and understandable.
Greens are maintained.
This golf course is very good for iron practices .
You will use every club in your bag
Heard a lot about this course. The course was in great shape for Nov.. Very narrow fairways and table top greens that were fast and true.
Tough Course
I'm a beginner and there are a couple of holes that are straight up and straight down and there are many hazards in between.
I lost a lot of balls and the cart drive is extensive.
On the bright side, the staff was extremely friendly and the price booked with GolfNow was fantastic.
A little gem
This is not a long course but very rewarding for every golfer, the course was in superb condission with friendly staff, very scenic and fun to play
Bring a Range Finder
I played on a Sunday and although it felt like we waited on the tee box on almost every hole, we still finished the round under 4 hours.
Although the holes aren't long, there's very little forgiveness and plenty of blind shots and hidden hazards. There are very wise tips for each hole on a sign inside the carts.
The course was in pretty good condition, the greens were very slow in the morning, but it was damp so not unexpected. The one aggravating part about the course was the lack of yard markers. The distance from the tee and the 150 yard stake is about all you get. I ended up getting a GPS app during the round because of this. On one par 3 with very little room for error around the green, the yardage on the card was 106. It looked a little longer and when I checked the GPS and it was 134 yards to the middle of the green. Unsure of the GPS and card yardage, I split the difference and used my 120 yard club and didn't even make it to the green...
Challenging, good looking course
Don't let the length decieve you, Osprey is as challenging a course as you'll find. Almost every hole brings water, or a forced carry into play, so bring a multitude of balls. Staff is nice, but I wish the starter would be a little more aggressive pairing folks together. On Sunday morning, a foursome, went followed by 2, followed by 3, followed by 2, and we were backed up for most of the back 9. At around $50, Osprey is well worth it.
Nice course for the value!
Played here several times a year. Not a long course but the layout ia a bit challenging. Many hazards that play with your mind. Hate slow plays in front of us!
Challenging shorter course
Friendly service, good condition, challenging and great views
Very tough course
One of the toughest course I have played, and I play all over the USA
Challenging course
Many of the holes were in good shape. They had several holes being air raided that I felt were unplayable. Based on the discounted price it was worth playing. Overall the non-air raid fairways and greens were in good shape.
Nice greens, even though they were recently aerated!
Had a great afternoon playing The Osprey's. Beautiful scenery on the Occoquan River and a nicely laid out course. Needed more sand in the bunkers, which is the case with a lot of courses. Course looks extremely short on the score card but you need to be a decent golfer to break 80 due to the dog legs on some of the holes. Accuracy is a must.
not long but tight on some holes. good challenge.
nice challenging course. good value for the money.
great views
Course was challenging and plays a bit longer than the card. the yardages are not well marked so in my opinion GPS or range finder are needed. Many blind shots and target golf is needed, but without very good yardages to targets a little local know how went a long way for me. lots of OB so bring a few extra balls.
Course is punishing, but beautiful
Don't even bring a driver if you hit the ball over 230 yards. You will be punished for good golf shots. I am OK with tight courses, but this course forces you to hit to island fairways flanked by dense brush and forest. The green approaches are no easier. You WILL lose golf balls.
With that said, the course is beautiful with great views of the river. Was a very enjoyable though also a frustrating day.
Great course
Can play every week day if I can
Great course and good condition
Target golf.
Plays much longer than yardage because of numerous dog legs and forced lay ups. Many opportunities to to lose balls with loose shots.
What a GREAT course!!!
Don't be fooled by the yardage...this course will eat you alive if you don't manage it -- especially for 1st-timers. Although there is no range, you have the opportunity to swing into a driving net to warm up. The course was in good shape. The greens were great and rolled faster than average. I will definitely play this course again. And look forward to employing a new strategy given the course-knowledge that I now have.
