You hit all clubs at this course ...great course for iron game
When I first checked out reviews I concerned it might be a chip and putt course, no being able to hit driver. You can hit drivers, you just need to be accurate. When I showed up it was very hot and I asked if I could bring my own cooler and they said yes. It was nice to have plenty of water and power aide. I was able to play at my own pace hitting several extra shots per hole. Great layout, pristine conditions, smooth quick greens. Inexpensive to play with golf now and I am very glad I got to play here. I did not get the "cheat sheet" before playing and it would have cost me shots if I was playing for score, so get one before you play.
Short but tight
Not the longest course but accuracy off the tee is a must. Missing fairways or greens carries a heavy penalty. Slopes added to the challenge. Course was in good condition and I will go back to play again.
Good value for the money
I booked this course for a pre-paid price of under $50, including cart. I didn't read up enough on the course to realize there is no driving range, just a practice net you can hit balls into to get loose. Nice putting green and clubhouse though. I arrived over 30 minutes prior to my tee time, so I was ready to go! But other groups seemed to arrive right at their tee time and they scrambled to get out on the course. It took us nearly 5 hours to finish - a very long day. But the course is in good shape, and it was fun playing some place new to me. I'd return and try it again, but hopefully the pace will be better.
Nice course that doesn't require a driver.
I never hit anything longer than a 3h off the tee. $59 to play Saturday morning, and the dude on the (outside) grill at the 19th hole is the truth.
Good value. Nice course.
I've played this course a number of times, and it's always fun. You must hit irons well..., and when you're done it's great to spend time chatting in the clubhouse. Staff is great.
Great Location and Value
The course by the card is rather short, but offers plenty of challenges to make up for it. Was out there wide open on a Monday, so who knows on a weekend.
Great course to work on your game.
Great Time!!
It was a Father's Day outing and the course was well maintained and played with some challenges. The staff was friendly and had a treat for us at end of play with a nice grilled meal choice for playing that day. Overall would play again and tell friends.
Great views on a tight course
The course layout and maintenance was great. Greens were firm and the ball rolled true. Course of play on Father's day was a bit slow, but it was enjoyable spending time with my family.
Great challenging course
One of the nicest courses I have played this year. It Is a bit short in that you won't have to pull a driver. This course will test your iron play with tight fairways. But overall staff is great and course is in excellent shape.
Too short , too narrow, grass too long
The course is short , it is so narrow there is no fringe just fairway and rough that they leave 4" long. Several island greens with no frige. They have no range, obiousouly they only had room for 9 holes but built 18. Will not go back
Course was in great shape!
Nice course. Short, target golf, can leave your driver at home. Very strategic. Course was is awesome shape and the views of the river are fantastic.
Beautifully Hidden Gem!!!!! BUT...
I've been playing this course for over 12 years and this is the BEST I have EVER seen the conditions and will be playing here more often now because of that!!!!! But I have a couple of complaints.
For playing on a late morning Tuesday and having to endure a 5 hour round was ridiculous!!! My playing partner's and I are all 0-4 handicappers and can play this course in under 4 hours easy, so to go 5 was insane! Never saw a marshal or player services. And my BIGGEST complaint was the ROUGH!!!! I understand that you have to make the course somewhat difficult because of the yardage, but the course is challenging enough!! To have 4 to 5 inch rough on top of the narrow fairways is ABSURD!!!! I have seen several complaints on here regarding pace of play. If the rough was more like 1.5 to 2 inches, it would play MUCH faster!!! The group in front of us (a twosome) were waiting on EVERY hole because of TWO foursomes in front of them looking for a ball in the rough on every single hole!!!! That's where not only shorter rough, but a marshal would have helped!!!
I would like to say the round was enjoyable, but it wasn't. The only enjoyable part were the conditions! Of the 1 time I hit it in the rough, I lost my ball. That's not good!!!! I will be back to play this course, but I hope that they take heed of their customer's complaints! Because if they don't, low prices and good conditions, aren't a substitute for long, miserable, ball losing rounds!!!!
Nice change of pace
A well maintained track with very good greens. A nice change of pace from a "regulation" length golf course. A couple of very minor irritations: a 420 yard hole is not a par 5. They have several of these medium length par 4s that they call par 5s. The other was that despite the presence of "marshals", there was no enforcement of pace of play. I played as a single behind a 3-some (no one in front of them for a good 5 holes) and they never offered to allow me through. In all, I would play here again. Every member of the staff I encountered (5-6 staff members) was VERY friendly. Nice atmosphere.
Don't let the six par3's fool you on difficulty
The fairways and greens were the best I played so far this year, they were in excellent condition. The rough along the fairways and especially around the greens was really penalizing. It enforces the saying "keep it in the short grass." It has plenty of water hazards, and environmental areas. Take along some extra balls. Using the Golfnow.com, it's a great deal. I will definitly play it again when I get a chance.
Needs better maintenance and marshalls!
It took our group over 3 hours to play 9 holes!
We did not see a course marshall until the 9th hole at which point we left the course.
The fairways are non existent and when there is one its about 20 yards wide.
In all we have so many choices for golf around here and we will never go back here.
Great views along the river
Fun course to play. The fairways were in great shape. The rough was alittle long, had to look hard to find your ball. Makes you want to keep it in the fairway. Bring extra balls with you. Staff was great and super friendly.
Very challenging course. You may want to pack a couple of extra sleeves of balls.
Course management is critical. Leave the driver in the bag on most holes. Enjoyed it so much, we're going back next week.
Great value
Course was in great shape (rough was a bit high, but no big deal). Got a great deal through golf now and had the course to ourselves on a Monday. You use almost every club in the bag. Worth checking out.
a tough course
This is a challenging course. Bring a few extra balls if its your first time. Beautifully designed.
Short game course only - leave your Driver @ home!!!!
Target course due to having to stuff it in small area, only a par 70 with the par 5's being doglegs with not allowing a driver to be used.
I can understand about the slow play. It can get a little crowded out there at times. BUT, to complain about the size of the fairways? REALLY? IF you are a TRUE 5-9 handicap, then you should appreciate the challenge of getting the ball into play! Not to mention the condition of the course was impeccable! I know because I played the day before!!! Stop complaining about the width of a fairway! A true single digit handicap is down the middle most of the time anyway!!! People... Don't take this person's review seriously.
